 The Khumbu Instruction
is our most popular climbing course
due to the quality of our training
areas while being surrounded by the
tallest mountains in the world. After
rock climbing instruction and equipment
orientation at a local rock climbing
area in Kathmandu, the group then
flies to Lukla.
From Lukla we trek for a week to
Kalapathar for a glimpse of the
pyramid shaped view of the SW face
of Mt. Everest and then set our
camp for three nights near
Mt. Everest base-camp for ice training
on the impressive seracs of the
Khumbu glacier.
For the instruction on snow climbing
and crevasse rescue technique we
move our camp to Lobuje Peak. Instruction
is then given at the high camp of
Lobuje for two days. After the instruction
is complete we are fully acclimatized
and have two days to apply our new
skills and climb the mountain. During
free time along the trek we instruct
and review skills as much as possible.
There is truly no better place in
the world to learn mountaineering
techniques than the Solu Khumbu
Himalaya of Nepal!
