Trekking Peaks » Singu Chuli
Tent Peak (Tharpu Chuli) 5,500m/18,045ft. -  Everyone's favorite!
Area: Annapurna Sanctuary
Days: 20 day trip -16 nights trek / climb, 4 nights In Kathmandu
Dept. Ex. KTM -30 Apr/10 May/01 Oct/10 Nov
Per Person Cost -

Situated in the heart of Annapurna Sanctuary, Tent Peak or locally known as Tharphu Chuli is among the few snow-clad summits at this height range in Nepal. This peak offers an ideal opportunity for those who want to summit a Himalayan peak, but who may otherwise be hesitant to try a higher peak as their Himalayan debut. Besides providing an interesting climb combining glacier travel, face climbing and tip-toeing on knife- sharp ridges, this climb on this mountain offers us with an unparalleled view of the entire Annapurna Sanctuary.

We begin this 16 day trek / climb with a drive to Pokhara and then trek along the  Modi Khola Valley to Annapurna Sanctuary.  We spend a couple of days here in order to get acclimatized for the climb and then cross the Annapurna South glacier and climb through a grassy slope to arrive at the Tent Peak base camp at 4,420m/14,500ft.  Above base camp, we place a higher camp at 4,877m/16,000ft and then make the summit attempt via the  north-west ridge route.  Combined with its position and ease of access and  the relatively low altitude and reasonable approach this is everyone's favorite!
