The trekking peaks of Nepal, lower in altitude and less explored than other famous Himalayan mountains, offer great potential for independent climbers and trekkers and provide a real, challenging alternative to the expense and effort of full-scale mountaineering expeditions to the higher peaks”Bill O’Connor – ‘The Trekking Peaks of Nepal’On our “Trekking Peak” Climbs, you will have the opportunity to climb to one of the 33 authorized “trekking peaks”. More demanding and adventurous in nature than our hiking trips, our trekking peak trips offer you a chance to climb a real Himalayan summit, and a taste of being in the `white wilderness’. All of the climbs we offer on our summit challenge trips are run in the popular trekking areas with relatively easy access to the mountains we climb. Most of these trips can be completed within a short period of time. For instance Naya Khang in the Langtang valley can be completed in less than twenty days with plenty of time allocated for acclimatization.
Though most of our climbing program requires little or no previous mountaineering experience, it is essential that you are in good physical condition and have an extensive outdoor background. Before the commencement of the trip from Kathmandu, we will take you to the local rock climbing area and teach you the basics of handling ropes and other climbing devices. While on the trek, we take time to learn more about dealing with the equipment, and gain some knowledge of safety considerations in the mountains. All climbs on our trips are guided by competent guides knowledgeable with the respective mountain and its environs. Join one of our summit challenge trips and discover the joy of climbing the Himalayas – a privilege that once was reserved only for the ‘expedition climbers’.
