Dolpo area is situated in far remote area of western Nepal. Typically Tibetan origin people are residing in this area. Beside, this is also one of the few areas where the pre- Buddhist Bon Po religion is practiced   This area is rich in cultural and natural diversity. Lower Dolpo Trek offers a wonderful trekking experience in the remote western region of Nepal. To commence this Lower Dolpo trek, we have to take an hour flight to Nepalgunj from Kathmandu and next flight to Jhupal and begin our trek through remote locations of Dolpo.

Generally, Dolpo area has been came popular after The 1999 French-Nepalese movie Himalaya, which gives insight into the local customs, was the first Nepalese film to be nominated for an Oscar award and also a huge success in Nepal itself, drawing the country’s attention to the region. Also Dolpo region has been shown in all its integrity and full mystical experience.  Numa la and the Baga la are the two high passes of this trek.

Phoksundo Lake is also one of the prime location of this area.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu

Day 02: Kathmandu: Sightseeing and Trek Preparation

Day 03: Fly from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj: 1 hour

Day 04: Fly from Nepalgunj to Jhupal (2,320m) and trek to Dunai (2,850m

Day 05: Dunai to Tarakot (2,543m)

Day 06: Tarakot to Laini (3,160 m)

Day 07: Laini to Nawarpani (3,545m)

Day 08: Nawarpani to Do Tarap (4,090m)

Day 09: Rest Day at Do Tarap for acclimatization

Day 10: Trek to Numa La Base Camp (4440m)

Day 11: Cross Numa La pass (5,190m), camp at Pelung Tang (4465m)

Day 12: Cross Baga La pass (5,070m), trek to Dajok Tang (4,080m)

Day 13: Dajok Tang to Ringmo (3,600m)

Day 14: Hike to Phoksundo Lake

Day 15: Phoksundo Lake to Shyanta (2520m)

Day 16: Shyanta to Jhupal

Day 17: Fly to Nepalgunj, fly to Kathmandu

Day 18: Free day in Kathmandu

Day 19: Fly back to country
